CHICAGO, IL – Each year, HCF is more eagerly excited to hit the road in support of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and athletics as well as participate in efforts of encouraging those to choose to attend an HBCU. Our HBCU Football and Recruitment Tour, which began back in 2016 continues to float with very limited funding and resources. However, due to the efforts as an advocacy non-profit, we at HCF thrive in making it happen with or without funding.

We are thrilled to add back to our schedule the Southern Heritage Classic College Fair and Game as well as the Chicago Football Classic. We are forever grateful of our partnership with the Chicago Football Classic as it strengthens each year. The tour is joint with our Division of Recruitment, which representatives will participate in various college fairs on the road. We are also excited to announce that the recruitment team is awaiting to confirm a few more fairs that it will part take in, assisting students and providing resources such as their College-Board Guide Folders.

The 2019 HBCU Football and Recruitment Tour schedule is as follow:

  • Sat., Jun. 29 – 8th Annual HBCU Softball Tournament / Chicago, IL
  • Sat., Aug. 31 – UAPB vs. TCU / Fort Worth, TX

ST. LOUIS, MO – Lincoln University – Missouri will play Kentucky State University in the inaugural Ol’ Man River Classic at the Dome of America’s Center in St. Louis on Saturday, November 23.

The inter-conference showdown between a pair of HBCU programs will renew a rivalry dating back to 1932. It will be the 49th contest between Lincoln and Kentucky State, and the first since 1987.

“Even before the decision was made for us to return to the MIAA next season, we had been working to add a game against Kentucky State,” said John Moseley, Lincoln University Director of Athletics. “Lincoln is proud of its legacy as a Historically Black University, and we made it a priority before the 2019 schedule was set to honor the legacy of our alumni, fans and our department by playing Kentucky State at the end of the season.”

“The Ol’ Man River Classic is an opportunity to renew one of our oldest rivalries, and the Blue Tigers are thrilled to be playing this game right here in Missouri in November. I can’t wait to see our fans take over St. Louis for what’s sure to be a fantastic event.”

Tickets for the Ol’ Man River Classic will cost $25. More information on the event will follow in the coming months.
