Lincoln University Board of Curators Names Dr. Jerald Jones Woolfolk as 20th President

JEFFERSON CITY, MO – The Lincoln University of Missouri Board of Curators has named Dr. Jerald Jones Woolfolk as the university’s 20th President, according to the university’s spokesperson. Woolfolk was selected after a six-month search lead by the Isaacson, Miller Search Firm. Curator Frank J. Logan, Sr. and Curator Winston J. Rutledge, Ed.D., served as co-chairs of the 20-member Presidential Search Committee, which ultimately recommended Woolfolk as the next president of the 152-year-old institution.

Curator Marvin O. Teer, President of the Board of Curators says Woolfolk is the right leader for the university at this point in its legacy. “We have a lot of work to do, and Dr. Woolfolk is exactly who we need at the helm to move us forward.”

Woolfolk is currently the Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Oswego. She holds roles as a Visiting Professor and the Interim Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer at SUNY. With a strong background in student affairs, she has also served as Vice President for Student Affairs, Enrollment Management and Diversity at Mississippi Valley State University and Vice President for Student Affairs at the College Staten Island-City University of New York. In addition, she served as Assistant to the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, Associate Dean of Students for Residential Life and Dean of Student Life at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.

Woolfolk holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology degree from Jackson State University, a Master of Science in Counselor Education from Iowa State University; and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Urban Higher Education from Jackson State University. In addition, she completed the Harvard University Institute for Educational Management; the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU)/Council of Independent Colleges/Academic Leadership Institute Executive Leadership Academy; The AASCU Millennial Leadership (MLI) and the Indiana University Certificate in Fundraising Management.

Dr. Jerald Jones Woolfolk will begin as the 20th President of Lincoln University on June 1, 2018. Michael A. Middleton, who has served as Interim President of Lincoln University since July 2017 will continue in that role until then. President Woolfolk will be introduced during the 16th Annual President’s Gala weekend. The Gala is scheduled for Saturday, April 7, beginning at 5 p.m. at The LINC.
