Described as a highly energetic, enthusiast, and visionary leader at heart, Demetrius is a strong advocate for historically black colleges and universities. His vision for HCF is to lead the organization to become an essential tool in the backing support of HBCUs, serve as another avenue of advertisement, and raise funds to assist students as well as HBCUs. Demetrius' dream goal is to assist HBCUs to remain as the imperative institutions that they were created to be and serve academic excellence to the African-American community as well as a diverse population.
However, as a young leader and CEO of a non-profit organization, Demetrius is inspired and dedicated to working in helping others. He is willing to share his love for HBCUs, and its history. Institutions that were created over 140-years ago to teach and train African-Americans, he hopes to gain expertise working with presidents, chancellors, faculty, staff, students, alumni, supporters, corporations, foundations, and other fellow HBCU supportive organization in strengthening the success of HBCUs and PBIs. He also hopes to work with students and colleges from an empowerment and driven perspective.

He plans to attend graduate school, where he is going to study in the field of higher education with an emphasis on HBCU. He hopes to strengthen his skills and knowledge growth for his leadership at HCF as well as inspiring to work in the field of student affairs at an HBCU or maybe becoming a president or chancellor of an HBCU someday.
In 2017, along with his duties as President and CEO at HCF, Demetrius was appointed in the role of Admissions Communications Specialist in the Office of Recruitment and New Student Engagement at Lincoln University of Missouri.
